The Milwaukee Bucks and forward Giannis Antetokounmpo agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension Monday, solidifying the former project pick as a face of the franchise.
Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical and Charles Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the news. The deal is for less than Antetokounmpo's maximum and allows the Bucks to retain their designated player distinction.
Given Antetokounmpo's ascent to near-stardom and Milwaukee's penchant for needing to overpay players, this is nothing short of a win. The 21-year-old averaged 16.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in 2015-16.
