Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Washington's DeSean Jackson, Niles Paul, Greg Toler and Rashad Ross became the latest players to join in the protest during the national anthem Sunday, raising their fists throughout the "The Star-Spangled Banner" before their game against the New York Giants.
Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post reported on the gesture, which has grown in popularity across sports in recent weeks. Players have been raising their fists or kneeling as a sign of solidarity with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who began the movement to shed light on racial inequality.
